Shaitan Singh:Indo-China War 1962

About soldiers thse lines are engraved on shrine of Shaitan Singh of Rajputana Rifles all whose men perished fighting. Their bodies were found frozen but yet ready to throw grenade or fire gun when discovered months later.
“How can a man die better/ Than facing fearful odds/ For the ashes of his fathers/ And the temples of his gods”

Indian Communists: Ghost of Mao

As per today's media report Chinese Communist Party, which is holding its Congress next month to select once in a decade leadership, has dropped "Mao thoughts" from a key document whereas in India the ghost of Mao is still on the shoulders of Indian communists who publicly raised the slogans of Mao Tse-Tung Zindabad in West bengal.
In Sept 1960 the first evidence of a vertical split in the CPI became evident with the hard left faction comprising Jyoti Basu, Harikishen Singh Surjit, Basavapunniah, Sundarayya and Ranadive supporting the Chinese position on the Indo-Sino border dispute.
When Z.A. Ahmed indicated that the Party should take a nationalist stand on Chinese incursions to India, he was severely berated by the West Bengal faction.

Ghalib-1857 Delhi

Life:Target

It happens in life when everything seems to be pulling in opposite direction but it is our duty to stay calm, compose and commit towards the goal with single sight in the eye of achieving the target.

History of Delhi: 1857-Fatehpuri Masjid

Lala Chunnamal, who "was given the Fatehpuri Masjid after 1857 by the British, for Rs 20,000, with a suggestion to turn it into a market. But he preserved the sanctity of it, and 20 years later, restored it to the mosque that it was."

Mother-child-self

corporate corruption

Each one of us knows that corporate corruption in India is monumental. The media never talks about corporate corruption. We’ve had a thousand exposes against politicians in last 20 years, you can’t name me 10 exposes that the media has done against corporations. Because corporations pay for our lives, they pay for our advertising, they pay our salaries. So we genuflect to corporations.

Jaipur Sweets: Temptation

Nirad C. Chaudhuri: Making of capital Delhi

In 1911, unknown to all of us, the shadow of death had already fallen (on Calcutta). I still remember my father reading with his friends the news of the transfer of the capital to Delhi. The Statesman of Calcutta was furious but was thinking more of the past than future and was not inspired to prophecies in the spirit of Cassandra. We, the Bengalis, were, but not in the spirit of Cassandra. We were flippant. One of my father’s friend dryly said, “They are going to Delhi, the graveyard of empires, to be buried there.” Everybody present laughed, but none of us on that day imagined that although the burial was the object of our most fervent hopes it was only thirty six year away.
Nirad C. Chaudhuri recalled their (Bengalis) reaction in his autobiography published in 1951 just after independence.

Meer-Delhi

Rajasthan in New Delhi

Sale of House and city..............

Change in Character

Change in Character not only changes the language but also tone and tenor of the personality.

mystery of unknown

Poem's:Ramdhari Singh Dinkar

धूसरता सोने से श्रृंगार सजाती है;
