Swami Vivekananda’s actual 150th birth anniversary year is January 2013 to January 2014.
Swami Vivekananda is a household name in India. He was one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the modern world. Th rough the lectures he delivered at the World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893 and subsequent lecturing and teaching work for four and a half years in the USA and England, he raised the image of India to a high pedestal as the land of spirituality, harmony, and rich cultural heritage. What is now known as modern Hinduism is mostly Swamiji’s creation.
