"मुझे लगता है यदि आप 10 वीं शताब्दी या उससे पूर्व के इतने सारे हिंदू मंदिरों को विकृत, विरूपित देखते हैं तो आपको इस बात का आभास होता है कि कुछ भयानक हुआ था। मुझे लगता है कि उस अलग-थलग संसार की सभ्यता उन आक्रमणों से प्राणघातक रूप से घायल हुई और पुराना संसार नष्ट हो गया। यह समझने वाली बात है। प्राचीन हिंदू भारत को नष्ट कर दिया गया।"
